Hello and Welcome!
I have had a camera in my hand since my granddad (who was a photographer for the Royal Navy) had a red-room back in the 90’s and was eager to show me how cameras worked.
I am a full time entrepreneur, I own an Architecture and Interior Designer business; I also work in retail to help sustain my income while I continuously build my businesses.
Some quick about me’s: I am a Capricorn. Fair-trade, organic, whole-foods lover… but also avid dessert and junk-food appreciator (I swear there is a healthy balance!!). Astrologist and tarot-reading obsessed. Cosplayer, and overall geek. Metal-head and music lover.
What happened in 2018: My best friend (of 10 years) and I bought a truck and trailer, packed everything we could into it, and drove across Canada! Got engaged! We have set up our new home here in Victoria BC and LOVE it.
Plans for 2019: Save up for my Marketing trip to Nashville in February, and then the two weddings (almost back to back) in September back in Ottawa. Hoping for a quiet year while we build up our new little home and getting ourselves settled.
My usual night: All things that encompass Netflix, with lovely hubs-to-be Kelvin along with Pet Turtle Mikey, and Connor the Kitten.
My Style: Edgy and Real would probably best distinguish my style. I roll with the emotion of the surrounding. I have a mixture of light and dark depending on the mood of the image and what the viewer should feel when seeing it. I love playing with different lighting, creating moody or bright shots, respectively. I definitely prefer candid imagery (with a little navigating) with natural light. If I could be summarized, I capture real emotion.
My Gear: I shoot with a Canon T3; usually with my 50 mm lens, but I also have my kit 18-55mm, and 55-250mm. Fellow photographers are probably cringing, but it’s all about the user not the lens 😉 I’ll be upgrading soon! I edit in Lightroom 6 and Photoshop CS6.
Navigating the website: In my galleries drop-down menu, I’ve indicated the types of preferred sessions I will take on, but you’ll see in my blog that I do far more. I’ve done maternity, behind-the-scenes for movies, best friends, events, pets, etc. I particularly love taking progress photos for my clients renovation projects – all those specialized detail shots from their custom furniture, or the cool features on their new kitchen cabinets. The only type of session I won’t do is newborn baby photos… I feel that takes a special artistry I just do not have the touch for! But otherwise, If you like my style and interested in working with me, I’d love to chat!
